Jim Rice is excited to join the ownership group of the Brockton Rox. “As a Massachusetts resident, I am thrilled to be part of a professional baseball organization in my own backyard," says Rice. He also added the importance of giving back to the next generation of baseball, bringing the Rox together with the countless youth programs in the area. As a proud resident of the state, Rice is eager to give back to his community by he and inspire the next generation of players. With his passion for the game and his commitment to his hometown, Rice is looking forward to being part of the Rox's success and providing a unique opportunity for fans to connect with the sport he loves.

About Jim Rice

Jim Rice is a former Major League Baseball player best known for his time with the Boston Red Sox. Born on March 8, 1953, in Anderson, South Carolina, Rice played 16 seasons in the big leagues, all with the Red Sox, from 1974 to 1989. A powerful right-handed hitter, he was a key figure in the team’s lineup, earning 8 All-Star selections and winning the American League MVP award in 1978 after leading the league in home runs, RBIs, and batting average. Rice finished his career with 382 home runs and over 1,500 RBIs. Known for his strong arm in the outfield and his consistent bat, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009. His legacy as one of the greatest Red Sox players remains cemented in the hearts of fans.
