Brockton Rox Hire Michael Garza as Head Coach

The Brockton Rox are excited to announce the hiring of a new head coach for the 2021 season.

Michael Garza joins the Futures League with three years of experience as the Coordinator of Video and Scouting for the University of Virginia baseball team. Previously, Garza also spent time as a volunteer assistant coach in 2018 at the United States Naval Academy.

Garza was selected in the 20th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers, and spent three seasons in their minor league system reaching High-A ball with the Brevard County Manatees. He has experience in independent baseball as well, finishing his playing career off with two seasons with the Frontier League’s Joliet Slammers.

In college, Garza started at Stanford University before transferring to Georgetown University after his freshman season. He has played summer collegiate baseball in the Valley Baseball League and the Cape Cod League, winning the 2011 Cape Cod League Playoff MVP as a member of the Harwich Mariners. Garza hails originally from San Antonio, Texas where he was the 2008 Texas High School Player of the Year.
