
On October 21, 2004 Victoria "Torie" Snelgrove attended a Red Sox celebration in Boston and was tragically killed. In her memory the Snelgrove family has set up a memorial fund. Torie's dream was to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. It is the goal of the Victoria Snelgrove Memorial Fund to award scholarships benefiting East Bridgewater High School, Massachusetts and Emerson College of Boston, students who have the same dream. In addition the Victoria Snelgrove Memorial Fund hopes to benefit the lives of others.

The Brockton Rox Independent Professional Baseball team (Can-Am League) is seeking to fill the position of Victoria Snelgrove Media Internship.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing all 94 Brockton Rox games at the Rox flagship radio station. Production responsibilities include board operations and webstream maintenance. This position also includes on-air responsibilities including, but not limited to, hosting the pre/post game shows for each broadcast as well as a weekly, one-hour radio show to promote the organization and the league. Play-by-play is not guaranteed with this position but a small number of innings may be available.
This media internship encompasses many duties within the Media Relations department as well. The successful candidate will have a significant role in production of the team’s souvenir program, program inserts to be produced for each new home stand and daily game day material. This position is also responsible for some website updates and maintenance.
Selected individual will also have the opportunity to assist other areas of the organization when needed.
The position begins March 1st and runs through September 20th.
Qualifications: Applicant must have previous on-air experience, and be organized and self-motivated. Previous sound board experience is preferred. Familiarity with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, and audio editing software is strongly preferred.

Each Spring, in honor of Torie, the Brockton Rox award an aspiring broadcast journalist with the "Victoria Snelgrove Media Internship." The internship is designed to help an aspiring journalist who shares Torie's "spirit, love of life and baseball."
